Booking

To secure your booking, please contact us directly and pay a 20% deposit to secure your dates.

We will then send you confirmation following receipt of your deposit or full payment. If for any reason we cannot not accept your booking, any payment received will be returned.

All holidays booked more than four weeks prior to their start date require that a deposit is payable at the time of booking. If it is booked within four weeks of the start date, then the whole of the fee is payable at the time of booking. In the event that any fees due remain unpaid within 7 days of the date by which the final Payment is due, we reserve the right to cancel your booking.

Insurance

Salcombe Sailing Adventures carries insurance of up to £5M to cover public liability. A copy of our policy is available for inspection on board, if you so wish. By accepting these Terms and Conditions, you accept that our insurance cover is adequate and acceptable.

Our insurance does not cover you for any loss or damage to your property not attributable to our negligence or defects in our boat. We strongly recommend that you take out your own travel insurance to cover, as a minimum, medical and personal accident expenses, loss and damage to personal effects, sailing offshore and cancellation due to covid, other illness and other reasons.

Cancellation by you

We will make every effort to cooperate if you wish to alter any previously agreed arrangements. Requests must be made in writing or by email preferably 4 weeks before you are due to sail.

Guests should ensure they have adequate insurance in the case of their cancellation within 4 weeks of the holiday.

All cancellations must be advised in writing or by email In the event of a cancellation being notified to us more than four weeks prior to a holiday, all fees paid will be refunded. In the event that the cancellation is notified to us later than four weeks prior to the start of the holiday, you remain liable for the full amount of the fees, and therefore it is possible that no sums paid will be refunded. However, we will do our best to sell the place and, if successful, will refund the amount of the Final Payment

Amendment and cancellation by us

If for any reason other than circumstances beyond our control, the consequence of which we could not avoid including, but not limited to, war, threat of war, riot, terrorist activity (actual or threatened), industrial dispute, technical problems with transport, power failure, natural or nuclear disaster, fire, flood or adverse weather conditions, or pandemics, we will offer you a refund. Alternatively we will use reasonable endeavours to arrange another date or another leaving point / dropping off point for your sail

We are not liable for hotel fees or travel costs incurred as a result of cancellation.

Our responsibility

Your safety will be our primary concern. You will receive a full safety briefing at the start of the trip. You must agree to abide fully with the instructions of the skipper. Whilst we take every reasonable precaution to prevent accidents or injury, you acknowledge and agree that some of the activities you participate in on the sail may carry a risk of accident and injury. Please do not take any unreasonable risks, and y accept that if you do, then you are responsible for the consequences of your own actions. Every attempt will be made to give you maximum sea time. However, if in the opinion of the skipper adverse weather or other conditions make this impossible to do safely, the skipper’s decision is final.

Your responsibilities

You are responsible for advising us of details of any medical condition or allergies that you have suffered prior to the start of the sail and of any medication that you are on that may adversely impact you while onboard.

Please let us know if you are unable to swim unaided for at least 100 meters.

Please accept that all personal effects and property brought on board the boat is done so at your own risk. We do not accept any responsibility or liability for any loss or damage incurred while onboard

COVID

Please do not come on board if you have a temperature, a cough or any other symptoms of COVID. Depending on the circumstances at the time, we may require that you take a lateral flow test before the start of the sail
